Use seasons as a prompt, not a diagnosis
Seasonal changes can affect what people notice, but activity indoors can occur throughout the year. Base identification on actual evidence rather than the month alone.
Warmer-month checks
Review outdoor bins, food areas, open doors and visible insect flight paths. Record suspected nesting activity from a distance. Check stored clothing and carpets rather than assuming all flying insects have the same source.
Cooler-month checks
Inspect accessible external gaps, storage areas and waste arrangements. Note sounds in lofts or walls and arrange identification before sealing possible active wildlife access.
