Use current food-safety guidance
Food premises need an approach suited to their activities. Start with Food Standards Agency pest-control guidance and discuss uncertain requirements with the local authority. This article is a planning aid, not a compliance certificate.
Build prevention into daily work
Assign checks for incoming goods, waste handling, food storage and maintenance reports. Make sure staff know how to record and escalate a sighting without contaminating food or equipment.
Turn reports into actions
Store contractor findings with a clear action owner and review date. Follow up on recurring defects and ensure the person managing food safety can retrieve the records.
